Occupational therapy: Reimbursement from the basic package of all health insurers

The treatments at Handtherapie Mulder fall under Occupational Therapy, which is included in the basic package of all health insurers. This means that the treatments are reimbursed according to the conditions of your health insurance. Hand Therapy Mulder has contracts with all health insurers.

The basic package offers reimbursement for up to 10 hours per calendar year for occupational therapy. However, it is important to note that this reimbursement is covered by your deductible. This means that any costs for the treatment will first be deducted from your deductible before the reimbursement applies. If your deductible has already been exhausted due to annual medication, doctor visits or a possible operation, the treatment costs up to those 10 hours will be reimbursed.

Additional hours of occupational therapy may be reimbursed with additional insurance.

Not everyone knows occupational therapy. Occupational therapy focuses specifically on improving your daily functioning with an emphasis on regaining independence and optimizing your quality of life. In the case of the specialty of hand therapy, the aim is to overcome limitations caused by hand injuries, joint disorders or other hand-related problems.

Hand therapy at home

In situations where it is not possible to come to the practice, I can also come to your home. This is possible throughout Peel & Maas, but also just outside. An occupational therapy at home surcharge applies for this, which will again be declared via the insurance as described above.

Splints, braces and aids

If a custom-made splint is required, this will incur its own costs that will not be reimbursed by the insurer. These costs are approximately between 5 and 40 euros depending on the type and size of the splint.

There are also costs associated with standard braces and aids that are sold within the practice.

Any questions about all fees and costs can always be discussed.

Cancel or reschedule appointment

You can cancel or reschedule appointments up to 24 hours in advance free of charge. You can do this by email or telephone. Appointments canceled within 24 hours or appointments where no one shows up will still be charged.

If it would be of added value to the treatment to continue the appointment via video calling due to a physical impediment, this can always be discussed.
