Occupational therapy for transportation aids
Do you have difficulty with mobility and are you considering a transportation aid? Occupational therapy can help you make the right choice and improve your mobility. As an occupational therapist, I offer expert advice and guidance in selecting and adapting transport aids such as a mobility scooter or walker. Together we discuss your specific needs, lifestyle and environment to find a solution that suits you best. Through training and support, I ensure that you can use the transport aid safely, so that you can move independently and confidently again.
I also offer help if you already have a transport aid, but still have questions about its use, safety or agility.
Depending on your situation and the type of transport aid, you may be reimbursed for a transport aid through the WMO (Social Support Act). In this case, there is a slightly limited choice of transportation aids, but it only costs you a small amount per month to use them.
An alternative to the WMO is the use of the PGB (Personal Budget). You will then receive an amount from the municipality with which you can purchase the transport aid yourself. You are then free to choose the means of transport. However, in some cases you will still have to pay an additional amount to purchase a transport aid that meets your requirements.
Together with the occupational therapist you can look at what suits you best.
You can always contact us if you have any questions.
